Student parking permits must be registered and paid for online using Parking Permits.
24 hour on-campus permits for the academic year may be purchased for $230.00 per academic year.
Commuter permits are $150.00 per academic year
When a permit is paid for a receipt must be printed and presented at the Campus Safety Office where you will receive the permit. Permits are limited.
Open registration: August 1st of each year.
First year students Due to very limited campus parking, First-Year Students are not eligible to have vehicles on campus. The only two possible exceptions are as follows:
- Off Campus Employment: Students seeking an exception for off-campus employment must provide Campus Safety proper documentation that must verify permanent employment in a physical space, working at least 12 hours per week. The job must be more than a 1/2 mile from campus, and documentation must be signed and provided on official company letterhead. Email verification alone is not sufficient. Permits will not be issued for students on athletic teams to get to and from practice or other sports-related activities. Working for delivery services such as Uber Eats, Door Dash, Grubhub, etc., along with ride share services as Uber and Lyft do not qualify.
- All work related permits can only be authorized by the Director of Campus Safety and only after all documentation is submitted. Request for a first-year permit should be directed to campussafety@kzoo.edu.
- Disability Accommodations: If a student with a qualifying permanent or temporary disability covered under the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 wishes to request a car on campus as a necessary accommodation, they may complete a Request for Accommodations form and attach supporting documentation. More information is available on the Disability Services website. Having a family member with a disability or illness does not qualify as a disability accommodation.
Commuter parking permits
Commuting students must register their cars if they wish to park on campus. A commuter parking permit does not allow for overnight parking. A commuter parking permit holder is eligible to park in any student parking lot until 2am.
Restricted parking permits
Under limited circumstances restricted parking permits will be issued. Restricted parking permits are valid only at the athletic field lot.
Visitor parking permits
Visitor’s permits are free and must be registered using the Kalamazoo College student’s information. The Kalamazoo College student with the visitor is responsible for parking and vehicle compliance. The visitor’s permits are valid in all student lots except Trowbridge.
Admissions Guest/Visitors
Guest and visitor parking spaces are designated for admissions, if it is anticipated that more spaces will be needed temporary parking permits are available.
Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff must register their cars if they wish to park on campus. Parking locations designated during the day includes Upper Fine Arts, Lower Fine Arts (south row), Facilities Management, Campus Drive, and parts of Trowbridge.
Request for overnight parking must be directed to the Campus Safety Office.
